Creighton University provides a free antivirus product for use on both computers connected to the Creighton network and those off campus but owned by Creighton students, faculty, and staff. In accordance with Creighton University Network Security Policy, all computers connected to the Creighton network must be virus free. This means that all computers connected to this network must have an anti-virus product installed. Persons with computers not connected to the Creighton network but still affiliated with Creighton University are strongly encouraged to use Creighton's free anti-virus software to ensure the highest degree of protection and support.
Requirements
- Creighton's Symantec Antivirus is only available for current Creighton faculty, staff, and students
- Only 32 bit operating systems are supported. No 64 bit versions are available.
- Remove any antivirus programs (including Symantec/Norton) before installing Creighton's antivirus software
- Choose the appropriate link below for your Windows Operating System. Windows 9.x is not supported here. For antivirus solutions for all other versions of Windows or Macintosh, please call the Service Desk at (402) 280-1111
Instructions
- Several versions of this software are available. Be sure to choose the one that is best for your situation and computer. One is for computers that are on campus and connected to the Creighton campus network. Computers in dorms, offices, classrooms, etc. fall into this category. The second version is for computers that reside off the campus network. These include machines in your home, non-Creighton office, or laptops that will spend the bulk of their time off campus (i.e. not on the Creighton network).
Choose the appropriate download
This download is to install the Symantec Antivirus software
on your on-campus computer.
Remove any antivirus programs (including Symantec/Norton) before installing Creighton's antivirus software
Choose "Run" to run the software installer, or "Save" to save the file to your computer.
If you are not on Creighton's network, you may receive an error: "You are not authorized to view this page" If this happens, you may need to download the off-campus version.

- Should your relationship with the University end, you are expected to remove this software.
Since you are off-campus (e.g. at home) you will be prompted to authenticate to the system to prove you are a member of the Creighton community. You will use your NetID and your BLUE password in the following fashion (don't forget to add blue\ before your NetID):

If your computer is on Creighton's network, you may receive an error. If this happens, you may need to download the on-campus version.
